The City of Irvine is looking for energetic individuals to coordinate recreational programs, activities, and events and to assist and oversee facility operations at the Lakeview and Rancho Senior Centers.
These positions are extended, part-time, with a schedule requirement of 32 hours per week. Occasional evenings and weekends will be required. Part-time or part-time vacancies may be filled in the future from this employment.
Ideal candidates will have two or more years of college or university work in entertainment, human services, gerontology, social work, or a related field and two years of relevant work experience in customer service, volunteer coordination, entertainment programming, or facility operations.

Interview: After a thorough review of applications, the most qualified candidates as listed on their application will be invited for an interview.
Background Check: A thorough background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment.
Medical Examination: A medical examination, including medication screening and proof of negative tuberculosis test, will be performed to ensure the ability to perform the assigned tasks. According to CDC guidelines, COVID-19 vaccination can affect the timing of tuberculosis testing and progression through the process.
Future vacancies: This recruitment can be used to fill future positions in similar and/or lower classifications within the organisation.
Part-time employees are hired “at will” and their services can be suspended without reason.
Certain city budgets may not include funding for employer contributions mandated by CalPERS. An eligible candidate who is a current CalPERS member may be restricted from temporary/part-time employment.
