Job description: Facebook AI Research (FAIR) is one of the world’s top industrial research organizations. In the FAIR Computer Vision team we publish groundbreaking papers, eg Mask R-CNN, ImageNet in One Hour, ResNeXt, MoCo, frameworks/libraries that are widely used in the open source community, eg PyTorch3D, Detectron2, PySlowFast. We also collaborate closely with the applied research and production teams on Facebook to bring the latest research findings to production. Our work is used to power the smart camera in portal devices and various Facebook products such as Marketplace. In the FAIR Computer Vision team, we have some of the best research scientists and engineers in the field, and we have projects covering the five pillars of computer vision: recognition, video, 3D, analog learning, and self-supervised learning. We drive impact by: (1) publishing recent research papers, (2) open sources for high-quality code and replicable results for the community, and (3) bringing the latest research into Facebook products to connect billions of users.
Research Engineer, Computer Vision Responsibilities (University Graduate)
High quality code development optimized for PyTorch3D.
Collaborate with scientists and engineers on 3D deep learning research.
Currently has or is in the process of pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in computer science or a related field.
One or more years of experience in deep learning and computer vision.
Coding experience in C, C++, Java, Python or similar language.
A work permit must be obtained in the country of employment at the time of recruitment, and a continuous work permit maintained during employment.
Software engineer expertise and research is demonstrated through internships, hands-on experience, and coding competitions.
Research experience in computer vision, deep learning, computer graphics, and/or 3D.
First-time authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (eg CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, or similar).
